CASE STUDY: Rawson Properties

STRATEGIC PARTNER

Autumn Leaf has been a trusted partner of Rawson’s for nearly 20 years. The existing ageing platform which was the engine behind the franchise service, was based on IBM Lotus technology. This was migrated to AWS initially using a lift and shift approach. Rawson leveraged Autumn Leaf’s nearly ten years of dedicated AWS Cloud experience to rebuild the platform on modern technologies, making use of the AWS managed services and DevOps pipelines to produce a modern, more scalable and resilient platform.

MODERN, CLOUD NATIVE PLATFORM

The platform has been moved to a modern design making use of AWS DevOps toolsets including CodeCommit, CodeDeploy and CodePipeline with underlying infrastructure deployed using CloudFormation. The frontend design is being built on React using AWS Amplify for accelerated deployment with Cognito managing users.

SOLUTION BENEFITS REALISED

The solution has modernised the underlying platform, removing vendor dependencies and licensing costs, whilst improving the system reliability and performance as well as reducing the total cost of ownership. New functionality can be rapidly built, tested and deployed to allow for a more agile, reliable and responsive development cycle.

CASE STUDY: 3×4

STRATEGIC PARTNER

Autumn Leaf was used as a spearhead to drive an AWS architecture deployment for 3×4 that adopted well architected principles for web development, data engineering and for DevOps principles and practices.

WELL ARCHITECTED

The system architecture was engineered to be secure and simple. A Control Tower deployment was created within which well architected principles were the guiding light for a serverless, scalable design. The architecture makes use of loosely coupled microservices but keeps the underlying engineering and logic easy to troubleshoot and manage. A full DevOps solution was deployed in AWS integrating BitBucket and BitBucket pipelines into a versioned and release controlled deployment landscape.

SOLUTION BENEFITS REALISED

Provides a platform to source and process data that is secure, reliable and leverages AWS managed services to dramatically reduce the total cost of ownership and dependency on skills to support and maintain the environment.
